Holiday tips

There are many different ways of saving money for holidays and tips for budgeting. Holidays can be expensive but many people don’t mind, as it is a chance to get away and escape from everyday life and spend some money on activities you wouldn’t normally get a chance to do. First and foremost you have to plan where you are going, and some places can be more expensive than others so do some research on where you want to go and plan a schedule that suits you. I am going to offer some tips on how to achieve this.

A good way to budget for a holiday is to give up a little luxury that you normally have, for example if you go out two times a week cut back to once, or cut back on other things such as meals out. A radical way of saving money could be anything from getting an extra part time job, or even buying reduced food from your local supermarket (be sure to get there late at night for the best deals as this could save you a lot money). I always put my loose change into a big jar and every year when I want to go on holiday I check how much I have.

When you are ready to book your holiday, have a look on the internet or go to your local travel agent, as they have great hr software that will help find the easiest and cheapest route for you. If you want a really cheap way of getting somewhere then look for low season opportunities or special offers, as these can be the cheaper option. Obviously some destinations are more expensive than others, for example travelling to Australia from the United Kingdom is more expensive than travelling to Spain but it all depends on what time of year you go, March or April could be a lot cheaper time to go than June or July. Planning ahead is crucial, once you have decided where you are going, try looking for cheaper restaurants and local supermarkets, or local markets selling fresh fruit and vegetables as these can help you save money during the trip.
