If you are planning to go on holiday, or did as the summer period is now over, when you came to pack for your trip, what would you assume is an essential for going on holiday? Passports? Travel Insurance? Sun Cream? Money? Swimsuits. Nope, it seems that a lot of you considered rather unlikely items as essentials on holiday!
According to an article - http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/lifestyle/travel/teabags-top-holiday-essentials-list-14857606.html published by the Belfast Telegraph, a survey carried out by Which? found out that 56% of people who took the survey took food with them for their last holiday, and of those 56%, a thrid took teabags with thenm, with a fifth taking coffee, 17% took sweets and 5% took Marmite. It is a surprise that such a large amount of holidaymakers would take food as essential items on holiday, particularly as over 2,000 people took this survey, with more women taking food than men.
The head of research at Which?, Rochelle Turner said “We all know that travel insurance and sun cream are essentials for most holidaymakers, but for many nothing beats the taste of home. Our research just goes to show that it doesn’t matter where in the world we are, we Brits love a good cuppa.”
It goes to show that we do get pretty homesick and prefer some reminders of home while on holiday, and a fresh brew of your favourite tea was the one people went for, enjoying it as if you were at home, brewing it on your cheap gas cookers, enjoying some marmite on a slice of toast.
